Environmental
Initiatives for Capitol Chilled Foods (Australia) Pty
Ltd (CCFA) Include:
- CCFA has been the ACT industry representative on
the National Packaging Covenant ACT Jurisdictional
Recycling Group (JRG) since its inception in June
2000. The JRG was established to develop and deliver
projects that will improve kerbside collection
efficiencies in the ACT.
- Through Dairy Farmers we are signatories to the
National Packaging Covenant.
- CCFA has an Environmental Management Plan, which
has the objective of ensuring that actual and
potential environmental impacts are identified and
managed. The plan is reviewed every three months so
that progress against targets can be
monitored.
- CCFA actively recycles plastics, cardboard and
paper from our production and packaging processes,
with SITA Environmental visiting the site 3 times a
week to take the materials to the Visy recycling
facility at Hume.
