CCFA is committed to protecting and preserving our environment

Environmental Initiatives for Capitol Chilled Foods (Australia) Pty Ltd (CCFA) Include:

  • CCFA has been the ACT industry representative on the National Packaging Covenant ACT Jurisdictional Recycling Group (JRG) since its inception in June 2000. The JRG was established to develop and deliver projects that will improve kerbside collection efficiencies in the ACT.

  • Through Dairy Farmers we are signatories to the National Packaging Covenant.

  • CCFA has an Environmental Management Plan, which has the objective of ensuring that actual and potential environmental impacts are identified and managed. The plan is reviewed every three months so that progress against targets can be monitored.

  • CCFA actively recycles plastics, cardboard and paper from our production and packaging processes, with SITA Environmental visiting the site 3 times a week to take the materials to the Visy recycling facility at Hume.

CCFA operations are subject to the following major environmental legislation

Waste Minimisation and Management Act 1995 (NSW)

Dangerous Goods Act 1975 (NSW)

Environment Protection Act 1997 (ACT)
