Two of the Canberra Raiders most loyal sponsors will feature in new roles for the 2013 season, with Local Liquor and Canberra Milk restructuring their sponsorship agreements with the club this week.
From next season Local Liquor will move from the sleeve sponsorship role to take up a new position on the clubs shorts, while Canberra Milk has updated their agreement to help benefit the Raiders.
Canberra Milk will remain a major sponsor of the club despite giving up their position on the Raiders uniform next season, but will still be represented on the ground at Canberra Stadium through their iconic goal post pads.
The move from Local Liquor and Canberra Milk has allowed the Raiders to bring a new sponsor on board for the 2013 season, with Defence Housing Australia last month announcing their new association with the Green Machine as sleeve sponsor.
Raiders CEO Don Furner said the restructuring of the clubs sponsorship properties allowed for long-term sustainability and said the loyalty of the clubs sponsors was something that the club was very proud of.
“Canberra Milk and Local Liquor are fantastic sponsors of the Raiders and to have their continued support in these new roles shows the confidence these local brands have in our organisation,” Furner said. “Canberra Milk has been with the club as a sponsor since we were formed in 1982, while Local Liquor has been on the sleeves of the jersey since 2007.”
Managing Director of Canberra Milk Garry Sykes said the relationship between the Raiders and Canberra Milk was as strong as ever and said the two brands are synonymous with rugby league in the region.
“We’ve had a long and proud history working alongside the Raiders right from their inception and its great news that we can announce a continuation of our partnership,” Mr Sykes said, “The Raiders and Canberra Milk are both iconic brands in this local region and we’re proud to represent the people who live in the area.”
Local Liquor Spokesperson John Krnc said they looked forward to continuing the strong partnership they have grown with the Raiders and said it showed once again how important local sponsorship deals are to both organisations.
“Local Liquor and the Raiders have worked well together since we joined them as a major sponsor and we look forward to the new chapter in our association together,” Mr Krnc said. “Its local partnerships like this that showcase the pride Local Liquor have in their region and their local team in the Raiders.”
